DJ Samar likes to describe himself as the stand-up comedian never seen on Comedy Central, HBO or even PBS but is often seen wherever he is! In the past 24 months, he has performed in more than 100 shows which is completely shocking to all who have ever known him. However, all are equally surprised at the amount of laughter he generates for audiences of all sizes. Before starting stand-up, he secretly wrote comedy ideas and material for more than 10 years prior to ever having the guts to go on stage. Now that he has started, he can’t get enough and looks forward to every upcoming show.
Samar was a regular comedian at the famous Scottsdale Comedy Spot in Arizona before they closed due to Covid-19 and has also performed shows at several other comedy clubs throughout Arizona including Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy, JP’s Comedy Club and Stand Up Live. With his strong desire to help raise money for charity, he has performed at numerous fundraising events for organizations including PGA HOPE which is an adaptive program that introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. He has also headlined shows in Michigan including the LOL Comedy Show benefiting the Blue Water Safe Horizons organization. During 2019, he performed in shows (as either feature or headliner) that have helped raise over $20,000 for charity.
Although he is a PGA Life member and now sells real estate full-time, Samar’s humor revolves around numerous topics including life with his family, health, music and technology as well as a few observations pertaining to his roots as a Yooper from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. While he addresses numerous topics of adult life, he strives to keep his act to an equivalent of PG or PG-13 and can easily perform without ever dropping an F-Bomb or any other commonly used adjectives in comedy. However, he is certainly able to adjust his act to match the expectations of any audience.
